Making Wine Since 1999
De Angelis Wines is a small production label, where each wine is handcrafted. Our initial production, under our own label, in 2006 was 355 cases. Production since 2006 has increased each year. Our maximum annual production target is 1200 cases.
In 2008, an early freeze, and other variables beyond human control forced us to forgo producing any De Angelis Wines wine that year. This was a difficult, but necessary, decision given that the fruit we usually purchase was unavailable due to the freeze. However, we did make 10,120 cases for other clients in 2008. We are proud to say that wines we made over the years we have been producing wine have been entered into eleven competitions, and have medaled eleven times.
The table below lists our currently available De Angelis Wines, and provides a link to each wine page. Click on the name of the wine in which you are interested.

In 2009, we added Cabernet Sauvignon to our production. That wine is an Estate wine made from the fruit on the winery property. A large winery in Northern California tasted the wine, and purchased the entire production. As a result there is no 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon available for sale. We have 2010 and 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon in barrel, and expect to release each in 2012 and 2013 respectively. Ditto for our 2010 Pinot Noir and Estate Syrah. We will entertain pre-release orders of the 2010 wines, but only in lots of 3 cases or more of the Cabernet or the Syrah. The discounts we offer to Fans of De Angelis Wines will apply. If that is of interest, please let us know.
Compared to making wine, selling wine is far more difficult. Why? Because quality is not the first consideration.
We repeat: quality is not the first consideration of many of the buying public. Packaging and Price out rank quality on any survey. Quality comes in third. That is sad but very true. Combine that with trying to compete price wise with wine from countries like Argentina, Chile, France, Italy, and soon China where government subsidies are provided to wineries, and the task of selling in the market is daunting. Yet here we are! Are we dumb or what? No. We really believe that there are folks out there who appreciate handcrafted wines, and will seek them out. Well here we are, so your search has been rewarded.
We will always try to make our wines affordable. It does little good to price our products at a point where purchasing them becomes a financial inconvenience and a hindrance. We constantly search for better shipping rates, and we do the same for packaging materials. Shipping is, for the most part, out of our hands. To help offset that, we have developed a purchase-shipping algorithm that rewards folks for purchasing more wine, by reducing the shipping as well as the cost of the wine!
The table below shows our current shipping rates for wines shipped to California Fans and clients.
| Shipping Costs & Considerations | ||||
| # Bottles | 1 | 4 | 8 | 12 |
| Shipping Cost | $12.98 | $15.74 | $21.61 | $23.60 |
| Shipping Cost/Bottle | $12.98 | $3.94 | $2.70 | $1.97 |
