Let’s face it,shipping wine throughout California can be expensive. Fuel prices, surcharges, and additional regulations increase costs. De Angelis Wines has worked hard, along with our web site developer, to reduce shipping as much as possible. Here’s the deal:
We can ship one bottle of wine, but prefer no to do that. Why? It’s expensive. Ditto for two and three bottles. Again – that’s more costly to do, but we will do it if we cannot convince you to purchase at lease 4 bottles of our wine.
One (1) bottle shipped in California will cost $12.98 to ship, plus the cost of goods. Each additional bottle will cost an additional $1.50 (the “bundled” price) to ship. Thus, a three (3) bottle order will cost $15.98 to ship. The total order for three bottles of the 2010 De Angelis Wines Sauvignon Blanc would be $69.92 How about adding a fourth bottle to the order?
At four (4) bottles, the Shopping Cart Total supersedes the individual order price, as well as the bundled price. For example, purchasing four bottles of the same Sauvignon Blanc will cost $71.92 plus $15.74 shipping charge, for a total order of $87.66. Consequently a fourth bottle of wine costs $16.58 rather than the $17.98 regular price.
Another cost consideration is shipping costs per bottle of wine. In the above example, a three bottle order costs $4.98/bottle to ship. A four bottle order would cost $3.94/bottle to ship, and a case of the same wine costs $1.97/bottle to ship. The table below provides a comparison of shipping costs. Be smart – Buy more wine, and pay less to ship it.
